Our Mission

Chalice Christian Church
is a gathered people seeking God's peace,
justice, healing, and wholeness
in every part of our lives and world.

Celebrating our diversity,
rejoicing in our unity,
we welcome and affirm all people
as children of God.

As members of the family of God,
we share our beliefs, doubts,
struggles, and growth.

Recipients of God's boundless grace,
forgiveness, and love,
we in turn offer our gifts
and invite the fellowship,
gifts, leadership, and spirit
of all who share God's passion
for shalom.

Who are we?

From the earliest musings about our church, we identified ourselves as people who embrace and celebrate diversity.  We are toddlers, grandparents, newborns, first-time parents, empty-nesters, singles, widows, adolescents, teens and newly-weds.  All of God's children are welcome here regardless of faith heritage, ethnicity, gender, education, sexual identity, age or ability.

We are the body of Christ in this place, called together to carry out the ministries Jesus began, taking the good news of God's grace from our doorstep to the ends of the earth.  To help with that, we have a bustling, vital Outreach Ministries Team that involves nearly everyone in hands-on missions.  We regularly prepare and serve meals to the hungry at Paz de Cristo, a nearby soup kitchen.  Through Refugee and Immigration Ministries we have assisted

Chalice Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) began as a multi-site ministry of Community Christian Church, a vibrant, well-established congregation in nearby Tempe.  On Easter 2003 we were chartered as a new congregation of the Christian Church in Arizona.   We recently completed construction of the first building on our property at 15303 S. Gilbert Road in Gilbert, Arizona.
